I need to explain what "Public" status means on the website. When someone signs up, they are automatically on Public status. This means all of the website can be viewed with exceptions to the Forum. When it comes to the Forum, someone who is on Public status can only view certain areas, and cannot post at all unless they have a submitted post approved by the administrator. The areas they can view are Welcome, Games Discussions, Player Recognition, Special Events, Off Topic, and Website Issues.
Sometimes we have players who have abused the forums for personal attacks, excessive profanity etc. They are changed to public status.
So for example someone was commenting that recent persons moved to public status should have a line of communication to the league. They do. They can post, it simply can't be seen by the public until I approve it. In some cases it's better that their communication be other means through email or direct in game contact, because the forums are not to be used for things like personal attacks etc.
For any new administrators on this site, as a reminder, you will note if you go to Forums and someone Public has posted that there is a red text at top of the page that says View Posts Requiring Your Approval. Don't ever approve them. We talked way back that job is to be left to me, it may have been before you had the administrator status. If persons who have had forum rights removed wish to post, they may submit it, and I will review it. As long as it's not breaking forum rules I will approve it. |
