The advertised scrimmages are doing well..a lot of fun and also, on many nights, bringing us in some new folks. I want to thank the vets who were at the scrim tonight for helping out with the new folks by giving instructions, passing to them, and taking turns on the ice to cut lag. It's awesome..really helps them get and stay interested.
Someone suggested to me also having regular scrimmages without the rookie emphasis and we definitely can do that. There's some nights only vets show so we use these scrimmages as sort of a catch-all and it's some of the most fun games. I'm not sure what to do schedule-wise for 2 but maybe we can do it at 4 and 5pm. The scrimmages basically were going to turn into "casual division" (possibly)..we haven't worked out all the details yet. In which both rookies and vets can play but again with emphasis on rookies. I have to talk with Allan, who is Casual division commish and see what he thinks. The rookies still need vets at games to learn well..it's tricky!
Anyway thanks again. |
