NEWS FOR WEEK OF 4-12-2010
For those who haven't met me, I am assisting Jack B. this spring & summer during some times he needs to be away on 1st Life business, or is occupied with the CPP & other inworld responsibilities. Please come by the Rink this weekend following the Sunday Games and speak to Jack B. and I with any questions.=)
NEWS
PLAYOFFS: Playoff action continues w/ the 1st Round. The Wolves are battling the Polar Bears & Cobras playing the Moose. Two teams will move on to the Finals. The Storm faces the Foxes in the European Division Playoffs. For the Toilet Bowl Series, the Mammoth & Ice Lords are on the ice. The winner will face the Whales.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM: Progress continues on this partnership formation. Jack Linden has approved the most recent Proposal & We are waiting for the new Sims to come online. Then, the Department of Public Works will be creating the bridges & roadways, & Jack B. can start building our new areas & new rinks.
GAME & SCRIPTING: Jack B. and Dyz continue to test, throughout this Season, various bug fixes & other problems related to Flying & Teleporting. You may have noticed several updates during the Season 10 which helped address this problems. Jack B. is testing various methods for determination on Attachments Which will implement in upcoming Seasons and help solve many of the problems of extra attachments. Upcoming Linden Lab releases on Scripting Limits will also assist the league in enforcing the rules of No Scripted Attachments.
CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS: Please remember the following in regards to Conduct while participating in GOHA activities and on our Sims! Since initiating our Code of Conduct & Mission in January, We have unfortunately needed to issue Conduct Warnings over a dozen times. It is mandatory that these codes are followed.
CONDUCT PROBLEMS
-Persons not abiding by Second Life's Terms of Service (TOS) and Community Standards (CS) for inworld conduct. All Residents of the Second Life world must abide by these wherever they are inworld. -Participants in use of profanity; harassing the opposition; griefing; verbal abuse of any player, ref or fan. -Participants in Drama. GOHA has a zero tolerance policy towards drama. If you have a problem with a policy, game issue, person or other GOHA-related issue, you are to bring it to your captain or division manager in a calm and mature manner. -Participants who participate in any form of harassment on the basis of age, color, gender, disability, marital status, national origin, political persuasion, race, religion, sexual orientation will not be welcome to participate in league activities. This includes text, voice remarks and gestures.
SUMMER PLANS: People are Busy with life in the summer. It will be pleasant for everyone to take a break and participate in GOHA's Summer Season. We will soon be releasing more information on the World Tournament, formation of teams, & many other fun activities planned for Summer Season 2010. During which time the CPP Project will also be under construction.
SEASON 11: Season 11 will initiate in late Summer with planning, Draft, & teams. We have some players retiring & expect for a moderate to heavy influx of new players with the initiation of the CPP Project. Jack B. will be looking into the number of players expected in approximately 2 months, & will discuss w/league at that time on how many Teams should be expected and Plans for Season 11 can be more rounded out.
Thank you=) Kerry Gretzky |

Late Summer? That's ages away. What on earth are we going to do until then? Will GOHA be running counseling sessions for those unable to cope?

We'll be doing the Summer Season--as previously announced we will be having a large variety of activities, people can form their own teams and schedules for a relaxed, come-when-you-can summer atmosphere. Also, the World Tournament for several weeks, and themed event nights. |

I really hope that doesn't involve you bursting out of a giant cake wearing something indescribably scarring again... I'm still getting Therapy for the first time it happened! |

Note to self: Cancel the Jack in a whipped cream and cherry bikini night.....it probably won't go over well.... |

We could have a "Civvie Invasion Night" just to make it seem like the regular season.

Think the summer season will be a really nice break along with a good way to introduce new folks to the game before we get down to the business of season 11.
Also, where can we apply to have a shot of building a stadium or something else in the new sims? Haven't worked on a major build for a long time and I'm dying to see if I still have any building skills left |
