What the Farm League is:

The Farm league currently consists of 2 teams (Eagles & Crocs)
Players on these teams have been assigned to them somewhat randomly there is no draft for the Farm League.

ALL new members/players of the SLHA will participate for 1 month on a FL team (12 games) before being elligible for draft to the regular div. FL Players have the option and are encouraged to remain on a FL team during thier rookie season.

The Farm League is to Orient brand new players to the mechanics of the game, and how SLHA games are normaly conducted. Players will be given the chance to try out different posistions. They will have access to veteran player coaches who will arrange for more in depth instruction.

The Farm League will serve as method for Regular League Capts and scouts to observe potential drafts for thier teams, and also as a probationary period to help identify and deal with trouble makers and drama llamas BEFORE they wind up on regular div team rosters.

The Farm league is a fun, no pressure environment for new folks to learn the game, get to know other members of the SLHA. Team statistics, wins, losses, are meaningless in the Farm League.

The Farm league can also serve as a training ground for new refs if desired.

What the Farm League isnt:

The Farm League is not an open scrim. Open scrims are held seperatly.

The Farm league is not a place for veteran players to show off thier skills at the expense of "newbie" players. It is not a place for veteran players to taunt, or riddicule FL players (that comes later ;P) If you dont have something constructive and helpful to say, dont say nuffin.

Farm league games are not a place to "hang out" before a scrim and spam gestures. Players will be listening for instruction from Coaches and capts and trying to concentrate. Observers will be expected to descript, and de-prim just like regular season games. Jack has assured me he will ban your butt from FL games if you fail to comply with a request to do so.

Does this apply to this year's rookies who have already been drafted by and are on the roster of a NA division team?

The Farm Div. is a great idea and I certainly plan to play! Thanks for the clarification Kert and also a BIG thanks to LauraAnne and Dicky for taking this on. They're doing a super job of organizing and I'm looking forward to the games.

(And yeah, I may be a little biased... but seriously, great job guys!)

This is a time-consuming thing to run, tracking down and communicating with new folks, and you are doing a great, organized job. I think the benefits will be clearly showing!!

Anything I can do to help let me know.
