I'm thinking probably most of the stats stuff here won't be regularly filled in, Dyz' site is very complete with it. I've filled in a couple with just the final scores.

Yea, I know. I usually check the game summary there, but I think they dont have a player stats page yet, like this one:

http://slhockey.teamopolis.com/league/division_info.aspx?SeasonID=2785&DivisionID=4681&TeamID=2341&DisplayType=6&EventTypeID=4245

You can check player stats by team but not by league.

Would be a good addition if Dyz can make a top with the top point getters in the league.

That would be very helpful for SLCN Broadcasts

Oh ok. Speaking of that, they are missing one goal and one assist for me there too, hehe. It says I have 0 g and 1a and I have 1g and 2 a.

The weird thing is that Dyz website have my goal registered if you check this game (IL vs Moose), but the stats page doesnt recognize that.

That's a good thought..I'll ask Dyz if we could get a page that lists "Leaders", like this one does, for entire league on top of by team.

I commonly get questions on stats, wondering why it is missing numbers and such. I'd like to remind everyone to select the appropriate season and division at the top of the page. All stats are based on those selections

I can do a Top page... but top what? Each player has more than 20 individual stats.. which one is it based on?

Wouldn't it just be easier to have a big list of everything called "League Leaders", sortable by clicking the top column, listing every player in the league and their stats?

We have stats on 1,290 people that have participated in the league. With the number of participants and the extensive calculations, it's just not effecient to display all data. At least, not without a complete redesign of the data. I do wish i had the time for that right now

Interesting that we've had 1,290 people participate in the league in only six months, no? I dont think the site or your browser is ready to download and sort that many records just yet

On a side note - the stat site will be down for a while for some server upgrades.

Alrighty then, here's the list of what I think we need:

Goals
Assists
PIMs
Checks (new award this year maybe?)
Hardest check
Shots
Shot %

GAA
Save %
Wins
Shots on goal

But you already essentially do exactly what we are asking for - Isn't it sorted first by Season, then by division before we even get anywhere?

Surely there have not been 1290 people participating in the league this season.

What we are asking for is exactly what you already have for the Teams, just combine the 5 team pages (or 2 in the case of farm, 3 in the case of euro league) you already have into one league page...

I can't link it because the server is down, but you already have a page that you can click that shows all the stats in one page for all the players on a single team. We want that page, but for all 5 teams combined in one list, that (season; division)'s league leaders.

Your Team pages sort out players that meet the criteria of a certain Team, Division and Season. We are just looking for the team criteria to be removed from that particular page so it displays the stats for all players from that division and season, not just the players from one team as it currently shows (this is nice too, so perhaps just a new link for the combined stats)

As for what stats to show, I would also like to see faceoffs won And in the future maybe a pass completion stat

I say if it means the stats page is overloaded we could still have teams like maybe a stats person per team put in player stats for goals, assists, and goalie saves/allows in this page.

I love how you guys are like ... gee, Dyz, all you have to do is... Like its quick and easy to do. Dyz put hours, and I mean hours into working on the stat site, and the game script, etc. all week long. And he does it without expectation of any reward other than having a great tool for the league.

Let's give the guy a break. I am stepping in and scheduling Dyz some free time, so he can take care of important duties like.. I dunno, kissing his girl, for instance.

This is supposed to be fun, not a full time job.

I'm just trying to clarify what type of list is being asked for, not a comprehensive list of every player that has ever played SLHA and all their stats on a single page, just a combination of 5 team lists that already appear on the website right now (already in a sortable format).

I'm a website programmer myself (not a scripter, but I do venture into the types of coding that goes into turning data from external sources into web content so I understand a lot of what goes into it).

Since it was being discussed, I wanted to clarify that this feature already exists on dyz's website with all of a players stats already visible but is limited to players from a single team.

I don't know how dyzware works, so I was asking if it could be as simple as backing up a step, and calling all players from the division and season into one list, in addition to what the lists already on the site do which is call players from a particular division, season AND team into one list. I'd hate to see him spend hours and hours working on something brand new when something similar is already in place because of a potential misinterpretation of the question

Agreed. It is one click to get the top scorers by team. Not worth hours of extra work. Being a non-scripting non-code person I have no clue what it takes but I imagine a LOT. I love what we have, it's got to be the coolest script and stats engine in any setting like this.
