So last night, once I got done with the paper shuffle it was time for a nice night, relaxing. Once the kids finally got down it was almostmidnight. My wife and I were laying around on the couch, watching Apolo Ohno skate and I got up to grab a drink. There was a candle lit on a table by the television, and as I passed, the cat jumped up on the table.
Well, the cat caught on fire.
I leaped and knocked the cat away. The candle fell forward, spilling hot wax everywhere. The lamp fell behind the television..in sections. All the kids came running out as things went thump, pow, bang and the dogs were barking. The smell of singed cat hair filled the house and my wife and oldest kid were laughing so hard they starting crying.
This was my Valentine's night--how was yours?

So, obviously things didn't go according to plan - and your heart was in the right place. Lotsa times, things just work out differently lol.
Glad the cats okay, and well - you will probably never forget that night!  "Remember when the cat bumped into the candle..."

Ok, first off, what were you thinking? Cats+Candles=Disaster, just like Kids+4 pounds of sugar+church=disaster.
On a funnier note, good thing you were just hanging around doing nothing.....can you imagine the trouble your four legged fiend (that is NOT a misspell) would have gotten up to if you'd planned some sort of romantic or special moment? |
