Jack, you mentioned that veterians should only play D or G...so with that said would they be considered subs as if in the NA? They can not go past the blue line etc. Also should goalies be "agreed" upon by the coachs/captians since some "subbed" goalies might be unfair do to higher skill level compared to the rookies being played? afterall we dont want to discourage these kids into thinking its impossible to score.

I think what we did last season (at least Crocs did...) was any veteran who wanted to learn the goalie position we put them there since it wasn't like they'd have some sort of advantage over the shooters having not played goalie before (not like if we put IPR, Bobby, King, etc. in as goalie). Of course, IMO, rookies should have first crack at it since they are new to the game all the way around, but I wasn't deterred from having vets learn a new position. I would expect that if I WANTED to learn how to play forward (God, shoot me if I ever have THAT thought!), I would hope that if we were short rookies I would be able to hop in as a forward to learn.

well last night we had two vets (Miley and Gunner) essentially dominating scoring- so I think, as Merrik said, vets can play but under sub rules (no cross blue line, no score). That way the rookies would get a better chance to learn to shoot and carry the puck.

Right, the goal of the farm is to get folks trained and comfortable to join the regular divisions. If they can't get hold of the puck, they will just get frustrated and forget about it. However Naida that makes sense, if folks play strictly D or G and want to sub in to get the feel of offense I see no harm in doing that, most important thing being the rookies get the puck time. Last season we tried to resolve the vet thing a bit by offering scheduled scrimmages for vets to practice and also learn new positions and we can do that again too. Vets just need to keep in mind the farm is for rookies (there was some mixed definitions last time but it makes sense to keep for rookies and we can definitely have extra vet practice games and training too)

Hey Jack.

I have searched this guy "Mike Mornington" (Landsharks)
Found one with this name, no SLHA groups at all.

Are there any players out there with this guys name
on the friends list? would like to get him added to
the group.

Thx for any help.
