I have a problem with my DVD/CD-rom. I bought and was attempting to install new hardware and then found out it is not working. On investigation it says that the driver is missing or corrupted. I can't update it: When I attempt to, it says Windows can't perform this.
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
I also followed the usually-not-helpful Windows troubleshooter, attempted an uninstall and reinstall a couple times, but wind up back at square 1. Any suggestions I can try myself before hauling it in? |
